Beauty insights and tips for different skin types

By FIONA MARQUIS
Pimples, acne, dry skin, oily skin, are all things we want to just vanish from this earth, but unfortunately most of us deal with. Most of us complain, but we never actually try to fix it.

Our skin is super important and it needs to be moisturized more now than it needed to be for spring and summer. There are so many different and easy ways to keep our skin clear, and most importantly healthy during these upcoming cold months.

Most of us tend to yearn for skin like Blake Lively, Ariana Grande, and Kylie Jenner, and many other celebrities we look up to. If you happen to find yourself dreaming about clear and healthy skin follow these easy tips that should guide you in the right direction.

First off you want to figure out what kind of skin type you have. Is your skin oily, dry, or is it sensitive. This is super important to know, because it will help you treat your specific skin type as there are many different ways to treat skin.

Let’s start off with oily skin. If your skin happens to be oily then you should try to stay away from washing your face too much. This may sound super weird and bizarre because you have been told your whole life to “wash your face everyday” but if skin is naturally oily, this can cause for your face to become too dry. This happens from washing your face too much as it can cause for your skin to produce more oil, because your face is too dry from all the washing. You still need to wash your face, just not as much and definitely not two to three times a day. Start off trying once a day with non-chemical, and non-drying products with Lukewarm water.

If you use moisturizer on your oily skin you might want to cut back on how much you are using. Another quick tip, is to try and put coconut oil on your skin. This may sound really weird, but if you put oil on your skin it tricks your brain into thinking your skin already has a enough oil on it, and another bonus to this is it also will  help treat your pores.
Next up,  is dry skin. If you happen to have dry skin you may want to try a hydrating cleanser. It can be hard to find a cleanser that doesn’t have all the chemicals in it, but there are actually quite a few you can find if you look at the ingredients on the back of products. Shop wisely. You may also want to try using coconut oil on your skin because your skin doesn’t have enough natural oil since it’s usually dry all the time, and it’s a good way to get some natural oil back into your skin.

Also, if you have dry skin don’t be afraid to use a toner. Toners can really help restore the Ph balance in your skin, making your skin look clear and even in skin tone.

Another tip is for the makeup lovers out there. Makeup remover can be a lifesaver when you don’t have a sink around to take off your makeup, but they can’t be relied on to clean your face all the way, and they can cause dry skin to become irritated. When you have dry skin you need to be picky with your makeup remover wipes. A high rating makeup remover wipe, that benefits dry skin would be the “Neutrogena Hydrating Makeup-Remover Cleansing Towelettes”
Sensitive skin is up next, if you happen to have sensitive skin then you should try using a gentle cleanser to wash your face. Your skin is super sensitive and can’t handle the chemicals that are in most of the cleansers on the shelves, so try to find one that doesn’t have a lot of chemicals in it.

Another quick tip would be to try and use a different washcloth everyday because if you use the same washcloth everyday, the dirt from your pores is still on the washcloth you’ve already used. Avoid using exfoliators because your skin can’t handle that much scrubbing, and it hurts sensitive skin the most. Using “Yes to Cucumbers”   would be very beneficial for those with sensitive skin because it helps cleanse without over exfoliating.

Following these tips can really help you achieve the skin you’ve always wanted. Following them consistently will produce the best results.  It is very important to figure out what type of skin you have to figure out and create the right treatment for your own unique, beautiful, and wonderful skin.

  1. Nice article! Oils are amazing for the skin – avocado oil is a personal favorite (just make sure the oils are cold-pressed)!
