Since their first non-league game in late November, REV’s Girl’s Water Polo team has been hard at work. After finishing fourth in CBL behind Yucaipa, Cajon, and Redlands High School, REV has worked their way up to their third CIF game. The first round of CIF took place last Wednesday, Feb. 15th, and left REV with a victory of 9-8 in sudden death, or double overtime, against Kennedy High School. With the winning point scored by the team’s senior captain Morgan Kramer, REV was swept into the second round of CIF. The team faced Costa Mesa High School on their home deck last weekend on Saturday Feb. 18th, which also resulted in a victory for the REV girls with a final score of 6-3. Regarding the game, senior team captain Veronica Coen said “We played with confidence and I’m really proud of my team. It’s been an honor being team captain for them and I’m so proud of how far we’ve come… all the way to semi-finals!”
REV Girl’s Water Polo played their third round of CIF at an away game against Paso Robles High School on Wednesday, Feb. 22nd. The game was a close match, beginning well for the wildcats with 4-1 at the end of first quarter, falling behind 4 points to 7 by the end of the second quarter. They finished with a victory by the end of the game with a score of 8-7. Senior Varsity player Bailey Weiner said “We showed up to win and we really came together as a team; everyone played their hearts out and it showed.” This sweet victory for the Wildcats now sweeps them into CIF Finals! The ring-bearing game is set for this Saturday, February 25, with more information on location and opponent to be determined.
