Citrus Valley Spreads the Love on Valentine’s Day

On Valentine’s Day, Citrus Valley spread love all around the school. There were many ways that love was shown: Associated Student Body members covered the halls with hearts that had all 2,200 students names on them, Show Choir did singing telegrams, and Spanish Club sold chocolate covered strawberries.

When it came to finding their names, students crowded the hallways determined to find their heart with their name on it. Each heart was color coded by grade; freshman were blue, sophomores were pink, juniors were yellow, and seniors were purple.

Sophomore Catherine Galvan said that the Show Choir’s Valentine singing telegrams and “the song choices were very creative and very good.” Senior Brennen Duronio, member of the Show’s choir stated “I’ve done it all four years and it’s funny to watch people to get embarrassed and fun. My favorite song that we do is ‘can’t help fallin’ in love.”

The Spanish Club’s chocolate covered strawberry fundraiser earned about $312 according to Spanish club advisor and teacher, Judith Rivera. Rivera stated that the funds help support upcoming field trips such as visiting Olvera Street in Los Angeles or the Museum of Latin American Art.

Whether it be friendly or romantic, students were able to share their affection for one another.
