The Citrus Valley Blackhawks’ boys basketball team look to carry their momentum from a 48-43 victory against Redlands High School into a conference matchup against Redlands East Valley. Citrus Valley was an underdog going against REV as Citrus is averaging 10 points fewer per game than REV but both teams are hungry for a win.
The conference matchup between the two schools was all about defense, as both teams scored below their season points per game average but REV pulled away and got the 56-46 victory over CVHS. Kim Aiken led the way for REV with 19 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 steals while Mateo Blocker led the Citrus Valley Team with 20 points, 12 rebounds and 1 steal.
Including the recent win, Redlands East Valley’s record now stands at 14-6. After their loss, Citrus Valley’s record now sits at 9-11. The Wildcats will try to build off of their last win playing a home game against Yucaipa High School on January 28th; the Blackhawks look to come back from their defeat with a home game against Carter High School on Jan. 31st.
