Feature: Charlie Egger Makes National Honor Choir

By SAVANNA PATINO

Charlie Egger is a senior at Redlands East Valley High School and has been a part of East Valley Singers there for three years. He has taken part in a variety of Honor Choirs, ranging from All-County to All-State. Recently he has been selected out of 4300 students to be a part of the ACDA National Honor Choir in Minnesota in March.

Only 120 students are chosen nationwide to be a part of this ensemble. He will receive the opportunity to be coached and conducted by Eric Whitacre and other famous composers and sing in up to eight parts. Rita Stevens, the choral director at REV, says it “is a true honor for us all. To my knowledge, no RUSD student has ever been selected to sing in this prestigious ensemble.”
