First-World Problems

Dude! I only have 3G here and it’s so slow. What happened to my 4G signal? Oh my god! My hair is so ugly today.

Something that is funny to me is how often you hear people complain about minor issues going on in their lives. These minor issues are what we call “first world problems.”Here is an example: someone complaining about how they just got an iphone 6s but the iphone 7 just came out and now they need to get it or they’ll be miserable. I know that I am not the only person particularly guilty of this one. We all know that feeling when you look in the fridge but all you have to eat is leftovers. So you go and complain to your mother about how there is “nothing to eat.”

I feel that sometimes WE ALL need to take a moment and be appreciative for what we do have because in this world not everybody has a smartphone, the internet, or the newest pair of Nikes. Most people sit around complaining about what they don’t have and what they need when they ACTUALLY  have everything they need already.  And I personally believe that statement goes for all of us. There are people in other countries that would be happy to have half of the stuff we complain about, and would enjoy it. I think that all of us can try and be more appreciative for what we have instead of focusing on what we don’t. So just remember that you should appreciate what you have, and realize that when you talk about how much you “need” new things that other people may not be fortunate to have what you do.
