Citrus Valley Volleyball Girls are Taking Over

BY MICAELA PENALOZA

Citrus Valley High School Varsity girls volleyball are in the middle of an undefeated season. They took a big win against Yucaipa High School, which is  one of their biggest competitors in their division.

This past week Citrus Valley took a gain on defeating Redlands High School and Redlands East Valley High Schools all  in one week. Despite being stressful games against all three teams, Citrus Valley made a huge takeover and accomplished what they wanted. Even though the game against REV was a close one, they completed their task having three wins in the game (25-19, 23-25, 25-22, 25-14).
Tiana Mosley (middle) stated that “Being undefeated feels amazing because all of us want to take league so badly so we all have really formed such a tight bond that no can get in the way of reaching our goal,” and Claire Kovensky (back row player) stated ,”It’s a really good feeling and it motivates me to work harder to maintain that record. However, this season isn’t even close to being over yet and it won’t be easy to take league, but we definitely have the potential to remain successful.”

With the athletes being able to balance volleyball and their education including things outside of school is a huge accomplishment. Citrus valley volleyball isn’t over yet, they will be competing again against YHS, RHS, and REV. These girls play with C.L.A.S.S  (Character Leadership Attitude Scholarship Service) while representing their school pride. Their next game  will be playing against Cajon High School on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016 at 4:30 pm in the Citrus Valley gymnasium.
