Blackhawks win big Homecoming game

BY ANTHONY MAURICIO

On a night that was filled with excitement and hope, the Citrus Valley Blackhawks went up against AB Miller in a game that was sure to be fun and exciting. Citrus Valley struck first when #5 Jordan Pachot, sophomore, threw a 55 yard pass to wide receiver Kellen Pachot, senior, to get Citrus up 7-0, but it did not stop there.

Jordan Pachot threw a “bomb” to Isaiah Isaac for 73 yards to extend the lead to 14-0.  Jordan Pachot was not done yet; in the second quarter he threw a 15 yard touchdown pass to Nijel Lockett. Then with only four minutes to go in the second running back James Sistrunk ran for a six yard touchdown and after that, with under a minute to go, kicker Jordan Schaefer, senior, kicked a field goal to make it 31-10 in favor of Citrus. The third quarter came around and nothing seemed to change for the Citrus offense as they continued to score as once again RB James Sistrunk, senior, broke lose and scored a 16 yard TD to make the lead 38-10. Then, in the fourth RB Isaiah Isaac rushed for six yards to make the final score 45-10.

Even with the solid win, starting safety Marshall Monteil, senior, says there’s still room for improvement. “We played decent against miller, but the team could still improve. And that’s what we plan on doing the rest of the season, until we’re as perfect as possible.”

Catch the Blackhawks as they go up against conference rival Cajon this Friday, October 7th at 7:00 PM.
