On April 26, 2016, Redlands East Valley senior swimmer, Jack Moyles, took the next step towards his future by signing his letter of intent to attend the University of California, San Diego next fall.

Moyles has been swimming for a total of four years now under the REV swimming program, as well as for his club swim team.

When questioned about his commitment, Moyles explained, “I chose it because I really liked the area and because my major was offered there so it was a good fit for me, especially with swim.”

However, he did not make this decision alone. He chose to become a Triton with the help of his parents, swim coaches, swim friends, and the coaches and swimmers of UCSD.

Moyles revealed that the coaches, “helped me feel that they would do all that they could not only to help me in swim but also in school, and the team was the same way, which honestly made the decision really easy to make.”

The Wildcat expressed his appreciation for the REV swim program, as he said they have, “helped me develop a lot of swim talent, as well as it helped me become a leader as a captain these past two years, and helped me stay on track to my ultimate goals.”

According to Moyles, his biggest role models are his father and coach. When asked who has helped him the most throughout his swimming career, Moyles stated, “My dad has been my biggest help and inspiration.”

At the university, the future Triton hopes to get his masters in mechanical engineering and make it to NCAA for his swimming.

After earning a degree in mechanical engineering at UCSD, Moyles plans to get a job contacting for the military.
