Insight on the Most Recent Tragedies

There are a multitude of events that take place every day that news programs are responsible for covering. With the vast amount of events that occur, it is difficult to cover it all. Here is a recap of some of the most important tragedies that have taken place recently and may have not received the proper media attention.

Beginning with Pakistan, a suicide bomb detonated the area of Lahore. On March 27, an explosion ended 74 innocent lives who were at a park. This explosion left 362 people injured, including young children as young as the age of 4 years old. Tehmina is a 4 year old girl, who was at the park the day of the explosion. She is left bed ridden with a shrapnel injury to her skull. Inayat Ali lost 3 of his children to the bomb, and is now deaf himself with a broken arm and burns to his face.

On March 19, 2 suicide bombers blasted the airport in Brussels, killing 31 people, and leaving 300 injured. About an hour after the airport explosions, Khalid El Bakraoui, detonated a suicide bomb in a Brussels subway at the end of rush hour. Adelma Marina Tapia Ruiz, who was only 37, was killed the day of the explosions. She was at the airport with her husband and 4 year old twin daughters when the explosion occurred.

Alongside these two major bombings, an explosion went off in a car near a bus stop in Diyarbakir, Turkey injuring more than 20 people on March 31. The explosion was powerful enough to shatter glass in surrounding buildings and also killed 7 police officers.

It is important to be aware of these global events as they occur everyday around the world.
