The last time that the Redlands East Valley girls soccer team won a Citrus Belt League title was in 2010. Now six years later, the team has recaptured that honor after finishing the regular season with a league record of 10-3-1, leading RHS by just one win in the final standings.
Following a change of mindset and a rough start to the season, they would go on to finish strong with a five game winning streak.
Throughout the season, the senior class made sure to help out the lower classman, “through example by working them at their hardest and motivating them to play hard,” so that they could help maintain the REV soccer program for years to come.
In her last season, senior captain and BYU commit, Danika Bowman, proved to be the voice of the team, helping her team through the tough times by continually driving and cheering on her teammates.
Now with the season coming to a close, the players look back at their win against Citrus Valley, as this was the one that officially clinched the CBL title for them. The victory was quite a memorable moment of their season, showing how hard the whole team worked to make it this far.
